Hi Guys!

First of all, we would like to thank all of you for being a part of the Himantayon community. In the last three months, we have experienced an unexpected surge of traffic and a much appreciated onslaught of new and exciting ideas from our readers. What started as a “small observatory” quickly grew into a vibrant community of intelligent, enthusiastic, and over-eager Himantayons. Mga bai, daghang salamat!


Special thanks goes to our beloved contributors, who tirelessly keep an ear and eye out for noteworthy Himantayon.com entries. Thank you for helping us chronicle the eccentricities and ironies of this world. Salamat.

At this point, I’d like to acknowledge the colorful personalities that inhabit our mini “Cbox” world. You know who you are. Perhaps, someday, all Himantayon.com “Cbox-ers” can sit down for coffee (or red horse, take your pick) and talk about Mario…errrrr…Jini and Donald…errr…whatever. A grand EB will never happen. Ka-corny ana! But a meeting of friends is certainly in the offing. (Lusot!) Sa inyo, salamat pod gayud.

Now that the “mushy” stuff is out of the way (you have no idea how hard that was for me…hekhekek), allow me to inform you guys of a few updates:

First, we have updated our RULES OF ENGAGEMENT. If you want to contribute any Himantayon happenings/sightings, please read our Rules of Engagement carefully before submitting. It is very important for the contributors to really know what Himantayon.com is all about. We have received a lot of entries that (we regret to say) we are unable to approve because they do not meet Himantayon.com’s format. Pasensya na, but we have expressly stated in our rules that WE ARE NOT INTERESTED IN FICTION. It would save all of us a lot of time and trouble if you read our submission guidelines first.

Second, we have updated the About Us page and the Submission form. Previously, only “Nadunggan” entries could be submitted via our online form. Now, you may upload images for “Nakit-an” entries as well. (Because of bandwidth limitations, we are setting a ceiling for image size. Please review the instructions as stated in the Submission form.)

Lastly, since this seems to be a prevalent question around these parts, we would like to state once and for all that we would loooovvveee to exchange links with you. The process for this is simple and straightforward, really. Just link us up, ping us when done, and we’ll link you up right away. Paningli gyud mi! In the next couple of weeks (sorry–the Himantayon team is currently busy with so many other things), we plan to incorporate an automatic Link Exchange feature here to make it easier for all of you.
